Rice planthoppers, mainly including brown planthopper (BPH) Nilaparvata lugens, white-backed planthopper (WBPH) Sogatella furcifera, small brown planthopper (SBPH) Laodelphax striatellus, are important phloem sap-sucking rice pests that causing great economical and agricultural loss in rice production area. Though they all belong to Delphacidae in Hemiptera and share almost the same natural habitat on rice, they are very different in several ecological traits such as host range, migration capacity, thermal tolerance, diapause property and transmission of plant viral diseases. We generated chromosome-level scaffold assemblies of three planthoppers with Hi-C scaffolding technique and annotated the assemblies by the OMIGA pipeline.
